In Moselle

Meeting point of the main European communication routes from North to South and East to West, since the Gallo-Roman era, Mosellle has been involved in many conflicts between France and the German Empire.
Bordering Germany and Luxembourg, its natural spaces (forests, lakes, agricultural areas) cover seventy five per cent of its territory. Second "floral département" in France, Moselle provides 4000 kilometres of walking paths and 184 kilometres of navigable rivers, including the Sarre.

The industrial era of yesterday has shaped the cultural landscape of today. The numerous sites and monuments bear witness to the history of the never-ending work of man.

In Lorraine

With its 2000 years of culture and history at the heart of Europe, Lorraine's rich heritage bears witness to the passing of the centuries.
Lorraine was, and is, the first region in France to promote geothermal resources and the second to contribute to the development of photovoltaic and renewable energies.
Concerned with the safeguard of biodiversity, Lorraine also harbours the first regional nature park in France to have been designated as such and also maintains the third largest region of forestry in the country.
